The Story Behind Gaelle Organic

A Lifetime Devoted to Understanding What Skin Needs

Gaelle, founder of Gaelle Organic and licensed esthetician with more than 50 years of skincare experience

For more than fifty years, I have been fascinated by one question:

What does skin truly need to remain healthy, comfortable, and beautiful over time?

As a model, esthetician, formulator, and founder, that question has guided every stage of my life.

This is the story of how that search became Gaelle Organic.

Healthy skin does not come from complexity. It comes from understanding what skin needs and providing it consistently.

Modeling Years

Long before I became an esthetician, formulator, and founder, I was a young international model. My skin was one of my greatest professional assets, and I learned early that it needed constant care and protection.

Long hours in makeup, frequent travel, changing climates, and the demands of the industry taught me something that would shape the rest of my life:

Beautiful skin is not created by trends. It is created by understanding what skin needs and supporting it consistently over time.

That realization began a journey that ultimately led to the creation of Gaelle Organic.

Learning From The Godmother of Modern Skincare

As my modeling career began to wind down, I decided to pursue my growing interest in skincare professionally and became a licensed esthetician.

That decision led me to Beverly Hills and to one of the most influential figures in the history of skincare: Aida Grey.

"Her personal clients included Nancy Reagan, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Julie Christie, Madonna and many of the world's most influential women."

— Dermascope, 1987

Working alongside Aida was one of the most valuable experiences of my life.

I learned not only about skincare, but about listening, observing, and understanding the person behind the skin.

Many of the principles that still guide my formulations today—and remain at the heart of Gaelle Organic—began during those years.

What made Aida remarkable was not the prestige of her clientele.

It was the way she understood people.

She saw beauty where others overlooked it. She understood that every face was unique and that skincare should never be one-size-fits-all. Her recommendations were tailored to the individual sitting in front of her, and she treated every client with extraordinary attention and care.

The Lesson That Changed Everything

Working with Aida was not always easy.

In fact, there were times when our strong personalities collided.

One day, she fired me.

The reason?

I wasn't selling enough products.

The truth was that I was often talking clients out of products they didn't need.

I believed my responsibility was to help women understand their skin and use exactly what would benefit them—not encourage them to buy more and more products.

When I explained this during my exit interview, Aida was not particularly impressed.

I told her that I was an esthetician, not a salesperson.

I wanted women to care for their skin properly and use only what was necessary.

Eventually, something interesting happened.

The clients kept asking for me.

As women learned that I would always give them honest advice and never recommend products unnecessarily, trust grew. In time, I became one of the salon's most successful makeup artists and skincare specialists.

That experience taught me a lesson that has remained with me ever since:

Healthy skin does not come from complexity. It comes from understanding what skin needs and providing it consistently.

Today, that same philosophy guides every formula we create.

Creating My Own Formulas

Gaelle in her early modeling career

As my career evolved, I continued studying ingredients, skincare techniques, and the relationship between lifestyle and skin health.

Over time, I began creating my own formulations.

At first, they were simply for me.

I wanted products that delivered the nourishment and comfort I believed skin truly needed, using carefully selected natural and organic ingredients.

Friends began asking to try them.

Then more friends.

Eventually, my daughter encouraged me to take the next step.

Together, we wondered whether these formulas could compete with the expensive prestige brands many women were already using.

So I shared my products with a group of discerning women who were accustomed to some of the most respected names in skincare.

My hope was simple:

If most of them felt the products were at least as effective as what they were already using, I would consider starting a business.

The response exceeded every expectation.

The women loved the results.

Many told me the products quickly became favorites in their routines.

Word spread.

What began as a personal passion gradually became a company.

And that company became Gaelle Organic.

Gaelle Organic Begins

What began as personal formulations shared with friends gradually became a company.

In 2008, we launched Gaelle Organic.

From the beginning, our goal was not to create more products. It was to create better ones—formulas designed to support skin health through carefully selected botanical ingredients and thoughtful formulation.

That philosophy continues to guide every product we create today.

What Still Guides Every Formula Today

More than fifty years after I first became fascinated by skincare, my philosophy remains remarkably unchanged.

Every formula begins with the same principles:

  • Support the skin.

Healthy skin performs best when its natural function is respected and supported.

  • Choose ingredients thoughtfully.

Quality matters. Every ingredient serves a purpose.

  • Avoid unnecessary complexity.

More products do not always lead to better results.

  • Nourish consistently.

Beautiful skin is often the result of small, consistent acts of care over time.

  • Formulate with integrity.

We create products we genuinely believe in and use ourselves.

The Journey Continues

What began as a personal search to care for my own skin has become a lifelong vocation.

I remain grateful to the teachers, mentors, clients, friends, and family members who helped shape that journey—including Aida Grey, whose influence can still be found in so much of what I do today.

Most of all, I am grateful for the women who have trusted us with their skin over the years.

Every product we create is guided by the same goal that inspired me decades ago:

To help women care for their skin with confidence, simplicity, and respect for what their skin truly needs.

In health and beauty,

— Gaelle
