      Olive oil is abundant in anti-aging polyphenols and rich emolients that soften skin and give it a dewy complexion. Cold-pressed olive oil (the “extra virgin” grade) has 5 times more polyphenol content than refined olive oil.

      Palm Oil contributes to the hardness of soap, which determines how long the bars will last. It also adds to soap’s lathering properties and enhances the bar’s ability to moisturize and be kind to skin. Overall, it’s a prime contributor to a great organic soap. However, destructive farming practices have given palm oil a bad name, which is why we have been careful to ensure that our soaps contain only palm oil that is certified organic, Fair Trade and EcoSocial, and is supplied through a partner that Greenpeace called a blueprint for the rest of the palm oil industry.

      Sea silt consists of sediment that forms on the bottom of estuaries and along the sea floor. In addition, its linoic acid soothes and softens the skin and improves the barrier function, reducing water loss and making sesame oil an effective moisturizer and salve for sensitive and irritated skin. It helps reduce eruptions and maintain a glowing complexion, plumping up fine lines to give skin a soft, smooth feel and a luminous look.

      Shea butter’s oils are similar to the natural oils secreted by the skin, helping it absorb easily and deeply. It is a delight to the skin, leaving it soft and silky while soothing irritations and enhancing elasticity. It improves the skin’s barrier function, reducing water loss and relieving dryness and is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive.

    • White Clay

      Cleansing, Softening

      Kaolin clay’s mild properties and fine texture make it ideal for all skin types from babies to mature skin. When used as a face mask, its natural absorbency draws debris from the pores, purifying, cleansing and soothing them without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

    • Willow Bark

      Regenerative, Exfoliating, Purifying

      Willow bark extract contains large amounts of salicylic acid (a beta hydroxy acid, or BHA), which has been shown to enhance skin cell turnover and improve the appearance of skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Salicylic acid is also an antimicrobial, helpful with difficult skin conditions. However, synthetic salicylic acid has drawbacks, including potential irritation. These limitations are avoided when salicylic acid is used in its natural form as a component of willow bark extract, making the extract an ideal way to benefit from salicylic acid without the risk of irritation.

    • Witch Hazel

      Witch hazel extract is high in tannins and other natural astringents that cause skin cells to contract when they come in contact with it, giving skin a smoother, more flawless look. It is a natural pore minimizer, often used as a facial toner, especially as its antioxidants can protect against free radical damage and reduce the appearance of fine lines. However, witch hazel extract is often preserved with large amounts of alcohol. Alcohol-free forms of the extract are preferred for use on dry skin.
