When I Began Looking More Closely at What I Was Putting on My Skin
For years, I had used a moisturizer I loved without giving much thought to what was actually in it.
That changed after a health diagnosis caused me to look much more carefully at the products I was using. The moisturizer's label was in another language, so I asked a friend to translate it for me. What I learned about one of its ingredients stopped me in my tracks.
I stopped using it immediately.
But it also changed the way I thought about skincare. After years of working with other people's skin, I began looking much more closely at what I was putting on my own.
I started studying ingredients more deeply, not simply what they were supposed to do, but why they were there, how they worked together, and whether I wanted them on my skin at all.
And then I began making my own formulas.
At first, I wasn't trying to start a skincare company. I was trying to create the skincare I wanted for myself.
I wanted rich, lasting nourishment without heaviness. I wanted my skin to feel comfortable and deeply moisturized, and to look radiant, refined and full of life.
I wanted to know why every ingredient was there. Every ingredient had to earn its place.

I became interested in how botanical oils, butters and extracts could work together, how one ingredient could complement another, and how the balance of a formula could make it more effective than any single ingredient on its own.
That became the foundation of Crème Supérieure.

A Formula That Continued To Evolve
Crème Supérieure began with what I wanted for my own skin, but I learned just as much from the women who began using it.
